ובשתא שביעתא אתקף יהוידע ודבר ית רבני מאותא לעזריה בר ירוחם ולישמעאל בר יהוחנן ולעזריהו בר עובד וית מעשיהו בר עדיהו וית אלישפט בר זכרי ואעילנון עמיה בקיומא :
bqywma emyh waeylnwn zkry br alyshpT wyth edyhw br meshyhw wyth ewbd br wlezryhw yhwkhnn br wlyshmeal yrwkhm br lezryh mawtha rbny yth wdbr yhwyde athqp shbyetha wbshtha
In the seventh year, Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds—Azariah the son of Jeroham, Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, Azariah the son of Obed, Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri—into a covenant with him.

ואחזרו ביהודה וכנשו ית ליואי מכל קרוי יהודה ורישי אבהתא די לישראל ואתו לירושלם:
lyrwshlm wathw lyshral dy abhtha wryshy yhwdh qrwy mkl lyway yth wknshw byhwdh wakhzrw
They went around in Judah and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

וגזרו כל קהלא קים ברית במקדשא דיי עם מלכא ואמר להון הא בריה דמלכא ימלוך היכמה די מליל יי על בנוהי דדוד:
ddwd bnwhy el yy mlyl dy hykmh ymlwk dmlka bryh ha lhwn wamr mlka em dyy bmqdsha bryth qym qhla kl wgzrw
All the assembly made a covenant with the king in God’s house. Jehoiada said to them, “Behold, the king’s son must reign, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the sons of David.

דין פתגמא די תעבדון תילתא מנכון עללי מטרת שבתא לכהניא ולליואי למעלני תרע פלטיריא:
plTyrya thre lmelny wllyway lkhnya shbtha mTrth elly mnkwn thyltha thebdwn dy pthgma dyn
This is the thing that you must do: a third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be gatekeepers of the thresholds.

ותילתא בבית מלכא ותילתא בתרע גבריא הוא תרע בית אולפן סנהדרין וכל עמא בדרת בית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha byth bdrth ema wkl snhdryn awlpn byth thre hwa gbrya bthre wthyltha mlka bbyth wthyltha
A third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people will be in the courts of Yahweh’s house.

ולא יעול לבית מקדשא דיי אלהין כהניא ושמשיא לליואי אנון יעלון ארום קודשא אנון וכל עמא ינטרון מטרת בית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha byth mTrth ynTrwn ema wkl anwn qwdsha arwm yelwn anwn llyway wshmshya khnya alhyn dyy mqdsha lbyth yewl wla
But let no one come into Yahweh’s house except the priests and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow Yahweh’s instructions.

ויקפון ליואי ית מלכא חזור חזור גבר וזיניה בידיה ודיעול לבית מקדשא דיי יתקטל ויהון עם מלכא במעליה ובמפקיה:
wbmpqyh bmelyh mlka em wyhwn ythqTl dyy mqdsha lbyth wdyewl bydyh wzynyh gbr khzwr khzwr mlka yth lyway wyqpwn
The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out.”

ועבדו ליואי וכל אנש יהודה ככל מה די פקיד יהוידע כהנא ודברו אנש ית גברוהי עללי מטרת שבתא עם נפקי מטרת שבתא ארום לא ארשי יהוידע כהנא ית פלוגותוהי :
plwgwthwhy yth khna yhwyde arshy la arwm shbtha mTrth npqy em shbtha mTrth elly gbrwhy yth ansh wdbrw khna yhwyde pqyd dy mh kkl yhwdh ansh wkl lyway webdw
So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. They each took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.

ויהב יהוידע כהנא לרבני מאותא ית מורניתא וית תריסיא וית עגלתא די למלכא דוד ודבבית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha wdbbyth dwd lmlka dy egltha wyth thrysya wyth mwrnytha yth mawtha lrbny khna yhwyde wyhb
Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, bucklers, and shields that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.

ואקים ית כל עמא וגבר זיניה בידיה מן עיבר ביתא מן ימינא עד עיבר ביתא מן שמאלא למדבחא ולבית מקדשא על מלכא חזור חזור:
khzwr khzwr mlka el mqdsha wlbyth lmdbkha shmala mn bytha eybr ed ymyna mn bytha eybr mn bydyh zynyh wgbr ema kl yth waqym
He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, near the altar and the house, around the king.

ואפיקו ית ברא דמלכא ויהבו עלוי ית כלילא דמלכותא די דבר דוד מעל רישא דמלכא דבני עמון ובה אבן טבא ושיבה די הוה חקיק ומפרש עלה שמא רבא ויקרא דקבעה תמן דוד ברוח קודשא והוה טימין דידה מתקל קנטינר דדהבא וסהדותא היא לבית דוד לכל מלכא די לא הוה מזרעיה דדוד לא הות מתקבלא על רישיה ולית אפשר די סובר יתה וכד חמון עמא דאתקבלת על רישיה דיהואש וסובר ית כלילא הימנו דמזרעיה דדוד הוא ומן יד אמליכו יתיה ורביאו יתיה יהוידע ובנוהי ואמרו יצלח מלכא במלכותיה:
bmlkwthyh mlka ytslkh wamrw wbnwhy yhwyde ythyh wrbyaw ythyh amlykw yd wmn hwa ddwd dmzreyh hymnw klyla yth wswbr dyhwash ryshyh el dathqblth ema khmwn wkd ythh swbr dy apshr wlyth ryshyh el mthqbla hwth la ddwd mzreyh hwh la dy mlka lkl dwd lbyth hya wshdwtha ddhba qnTynr mthql dydh Tymyn whwh qwdsha brwkh dwd thmn dqbeh wyqra rba shma elh wmprsh khqyq hwh dy wshybh Tba abn wbh emwn dbny dmlka rysha mel dwd dbr dy dmlkwtha klyla yth elwy wyhbw dmlka bra yth wapyqw
Then they brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, gave him the covenant, and made him king. Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and they said, “Long live the king!”

ושמעת עתליהו ית קל עמא דמרבנין ומשבחין ית מלכא ואתת לות עמא לבית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha lbyth ema lwth wathth mlka yth wmshbkhyn dmrbnyn ema ql yth ethlyhw wshmeth
When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into Yahweh’s house.

וחמת והא מלכא קאם על אסטוניה במעלנא ורברביא וחצוצרתא קדם מלכא וכל עמא דארעא חדאין ותקעין בחצוצרתא ומשבחין בזיני תושבחתא ומלפין לשבחא ובזעת עתליהו ית לבושהא ואמרת מרדא מרדא:
mrda mrda wamrth lbwshha yth ethlyhw wbzeth lshbkha wmlpyn thwshbkhtha bzyny wmshbkhyn bkhtswtsrtha wthqeyn khdayn darea ema wkl mlka qdm wkhtswtsrtha wrbrbya bmelna asTwnyh el qam mlka wha wkhmth
Then she looked, and behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, with the captains and the trumpeters by the king. All the people of the land rejoiced and blew trumpets. The singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, “Treason! treason!”

ואפיק יהוידע כהנא ית רבני מאותא די ממנן על חילא ואמר להון אפקוהא לגיו מן סדרי מעלניא ודיעול בתרהא יתקטל בחרבא ארום אמר כהנא לא תקטלנה הכא דלא תסאב ית בית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha byth yth thsab dla hka thqTlnh la khna amr arwm bkhrba ythqTl bthrha wdyewl melnya sdry mn lgyw apqwha lhwn wamr khyla el mmnn dy mawtha rbny yth khna yhwyde wapyq
Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in Yahweh’s house.”

ושויאו לה אתר ועלת באורח מעלנא דתרע סוסותא לבית מלכא וקטלוהא תמן:
thmn wqTlwha mlka lbyth swswtha dthre melna bawrkh welth athr lh wshwyaw
So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king’s house; and they killed her there.

וגזר יהוידע קים בין מימריה ובין כל עמא ובין מימרא דמלכא למהוי לעם משמש קדם יי:
yy qdm mshmsh lem lmhwy dmlka mymra wbyn ema kl wbyn mymryh byn qym yhwyde wgzr
Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, all the people, and the king, that they should be Yahweh’s people.

ואתו כל עמא לבית בעלא ותרעי יתיה וית אגורוהי וית צלמוהי תברו וית מתן כומרא דבעלא קטלו קדם אגוריא:
agwrya qdm qTlw dbela kwmra mthn wyth thbrw tslmwhy wyth agwrwhy wyth ythyh wthrey bela lbyth ema kl wathw
All the people went to the house of Baal, broke it down, broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

ומני יהוידע ממנן בבית מקדשא דיי ביד כהניא וליואי די פליג דוד על בית מקדשא דיי לאסקא עלון קדם יי היכמה דכתיב באוריתא דמשה בחדוא ובתושבחא על ידא דדוד:
ddwd yda el wbthwshbkha bkhdwa dmshh bawrytha dkthyb hykmh yy qdm elwn lasqa dyy mqdsha byth el dwd plyg dy wlyway khnya byd dyy mqdsha bbyth mmnn yhwyde wmny
Jehoiada appointed the officers of Yahweh’s house under the hand of the Levitical priests, whom David had distributed in Yahweh’s house, to offer the burnt offerings of Yahweh, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as David had ordered.

ואקים תרעיא על תרעי בית מקדשא דיי דלא ייעול מסאב לכל מדעם:
mdem lkl msab yyewl dla dyy mqdsha byth threy el threya waqym
He set the gatekeepers at the gates of Yahweh’s house, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.
20
ודבר ית רבני מאותא וית גבריא וית שליטיא בעמא וית כל עמא דארעא ואחית ית מלכא מבית מקדשא דיי ואתו במצע תרעא עלאה לבית מלכא ואותיבו יתיה על כורסי מלכותא:
mlkwtha kwrsy el ythyh wawthybw mlka lbyth elah threa bmtse wathw dyy mqdsha mbyth mlka yth wakhyth darea ema kl wyth bema shlyTya wyth gbrya wyth mawtha rbny yth wdbr
He took the captains of hundreds, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought the king down from Yahweh’s house. They came through the upper gate to the king’s house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.
