ܘܒܫܢܬܐ ܫܒܝܥܝܬܐ ܐܬܓܒܪ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܘܕܒܪ ܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܡܐ̈ܘܬܐ ܠܥܙܪܝܐ ܒܪ ܝܪܚܘܡ ܘܠܐܝܫܡܥܝܠ ܒܪ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܘܠܥܙܪܝܐ ܒܪ ܥܘܒܝܕ ܘܠܫܡܥܝܐ ܒܪ ܥܕܘ ܘܠܐܠܝܫܦܛ ܒܪ ܙܟܪܝ ܘܥܠܘ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܡܘܡܬܐ

In the seventh year, Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds—Azariah the son of Jeroham, Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, Azariah the son of Obed, Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri—into a covenant with him.

ܕܢܬܟܪܟܘܢ ܒܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܟܢܫ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܪ̈ܫܐ ܕܐܒܗ̈ܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܬܘ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ
l'wrshlm w'thw d'ysryl d'bhth' wrsh' dyhwd' qwry' klhyn mn llwy' 'nwn wknsh byhwd' dnthkrkwn
They went around in Judah and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

ܘܝܡܘ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܡܘܡܬܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܩܕܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܐ ܒܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܗܘ ܢܩܘܡ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܡܠܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܡ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܒ̣ܕܗ
ebdh dwyd em mry' dmll 'ykn' elykwn nqwm hw mlk' br h' lhwn w'mr mlk' qdm dmry' bbythh mwmth' em' klh wymw
All the assembly made a covenant with the king in God’s house. Jehoiada said to them, “Behold, the king’s son must reign, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the sons of David.

ܗܢܐ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܦܠܓܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܒܡܥ̈ܠܝ ܫܒܬܐ ܕܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܕܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܘܕܢ̇ܛܪ̈ܝ ܬܪܥܐ

This is the thing that you must do: a third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be gatekeepers of the thresholds.

ܘܬܘܠܬܐ ܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܬܘܠܬܐ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܕܛܒ̈ܚܐ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܢܛ̇ܪܝܢ ܒܕܪܬܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' dbyth bdrth' nTryn em' wklh dTbkh' bthre' wthwlth' mlk' byth wthwlth'
A third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people will be in the courts of Yahweh’s house.

ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܐܢܫ ܥܐ̇ܠ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܩܕܝܫܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܢܛ̇ܪܝܢ ܡܛܪܬܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' dbythh mTrth' nTryn em' wklh 'nwn dqdyshyn mTl nelwn hnwn wlwy' khn' 'l' dmry' lbythh e'l 'nsh nhw' wl'
But let no one come into Yahweh’s house except the priests and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow Yahweh’s instructions.

ܘܢܦܩܘܢ ܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܟܕ ܚܕܝܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܓܒܪ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܙܝܢܗ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܘܕܢܥܘܠ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܓܘܝܐ ܢܡܘܬ ܘܗܘܘ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܒܡܥܠܗ ܘܒܡܦܩܗ
wbmpqh bmelh mlk' lwth whww nmwth gwy' lbyth' wdnewl b'ydh zynh wm'ny gbr lh khdyryn kd lmlk' lwy' wnpqwn
The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out.”

ܘܥܒܕܘ ܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܘܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܕܒܪܘ ܓܒܪܐ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܢ̇ܛܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܡܥ̈ܠܝ ܫܒܬܐ ܥܡ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܢܛ̇ܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܡ̈ܦܩܝ ܫܒܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܟܗܢܐ ܡܢ ܡܛܪ̈ܬܗܘܢ
mTrthhwn mn khn' ywyde 'nwn hw' dshr' mTl shbth' bmpqy hww dnTryn 'ylyn em shbth' bmely hww dnTryn 'ylyn lkhbrh gbr' wdbrw khn' ywyde 'nwn dpqd 'ykn' yhwd' dbyth wkwlhwn lwy' webdw
So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. They each took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.

ܘܝܗܒ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܟܗܢܐ ܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܡܐܘ̈ܬܐ ܪ̈ܘܡܚܐ ܘܣܟܪ̈ܐ ܘܫܠܛ̈ܐ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' bbythh hw' d'yth dwyd dmlk' wshlT' wskr' rwmkh' dm'wth' lrwrbn' khn' ywyde wyhb
Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, bucklers, and shields that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.

ܘܩܡ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܓܒܪ ܠܓܒܗ ܕܒܝܬܐ ܕܣܡܠܐ ܘܠܡܕܒܚܐ ܘܠܒܝܬܐ ܘܚܕܪܘܗܝ ܠܡܠܟܐ
lmlk' wkhdrwhy wlbyth' wlmdbkh' dsml' dbyth' lgbh gbr em' klh wqm
He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, near the altar and the house, around the king.

ܘܐܦܩܘ ܠܒܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܝܗܒܘ ܒܪܫܗ ܬܓܐ ܘܚܘܕܐ ܘܐܩܝܡܘܗܝ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܘܡܫܚܘܗܝ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܘܒܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܐܡ̇ܪܝܢ ܢܚܐ ܡܠܟܐ
mlk' nkh' w'mryn wbnwhy ywyde wmshkhwhy bmlkwth' w'qymwhy wkhwd' thg' brshh wyhbw mlk' lbr w'pqw
Then they brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, gave him the covenant, and made him king. Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and they said, “Long live the king!”

ܘܫܡܥܬ ܥܬܠܝܐ ܩܠܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܕܚ̇ܕܝܢ ܘܡܫܒܚܝܢ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܘܐܬܬ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ

When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into Yahweh’s house.

ܘܚ̇ܙܝܐ ܘܗܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܩܐ̇ܡ ܥܠ ܐܣܛܘܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܕܡܠܟ̈ܐ ܘܩܪ̈ܢܬܐ ܟܦܝ̈ܦܬܐ ܘܦܫܝ̈ܛܬܐ ܩ̇ܪ̈ܝܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܚ̇ܕܝܢ ܘܡܝܒܒܝܢ ܒܩܪ̈ܢܬܐ ܘܡܫܒܚܝܢ ܒܬܫܒ̈ܚܬܐ ܘܣܕܩܬ ܥܬܠܝܐ ܢܚ̈ܬܝܗ̇ ܘܐܡ̇ܪܐ ܟܕܒܘܬܐ ܟܕܒܘܬܐ

Then she looked, and behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, with the captains and the trumpeters by the king. All the people of the land rejoiced and blew trumpets. The singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, “Treason! treason!”

ܘܦܩܕ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܟܗܢܐ ܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܝ ܡܐ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܫܠܝܛܝܢ ܥܠ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܦܩܘܗ̇ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܣܕܪ̈ܐ ܘܡ̇ܢ ܕܥܐ̇ܠ ܒܬܪܗ̇ ܢܬܩܛܠ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܡܪ ܟܗܢܐ ܠܐ ܬܡܘܬ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ

Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in Yahweh’s house.”

ܘܥܒܕܘ ܠܗ̇ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܘܥܠܬ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܡܥܠܢܐ ܕܪ̈ܟܫܐ ܘܡܝܬܬ ܬܡܢ

So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king’s house; and they killed her there.

ܘܝܡܐ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܡܘܡܬܐ ܒܝܢܘܗܝ ܠܒܝܬ ܟܠ ܥܡܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܠܡܗܘܐ ܥܡܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ
lmry' em' lmhw' mlk' wbyth em' kl lbyth bynwhy mwmth' ywyde wym'
Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, all the people, and the king, that they should be Yahweh’s people.

ܘܥܠܘ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܒܝܬ ܒܥܠܐ ܘܥܩܪܘܗܝ ܘܥܠܘ̈ܬܗ ܬܒܪܘ ܫܦܝܪ ܘܨܠܡܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܩܩܘ ܘܟܘܡܪܐ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܩܛܠܘܗܝ ܩܕܡ ܡܕܒܚܐ
mdbkh' qdm qTlwhy dbel' wkwmr' dqqw wtslmwhy shpyr thbrw welwthh weqrwhy bel' lbyth d'ysryl em' klh welw
All the people went to the house of Baal, broke it down, broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

ܘܥܒܕ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܫܠܝ̈ܛܢܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܕܦܠܓ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܢܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܥܠ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܣܩܘ ܥܠܘ̈ܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܒܐܘܪܝܬܗ ܕܡܘܫܐ ܒܚܕܘܬܐ ܘܒܬܫܒܚ̈ܬܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܕܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܕܘܝܕ
ddwyd 'ydwhy el wbthshbkhth' bkhdwth' dmwsh' b'wrythh dkthyb 'yk elwth' lmsqw dmry' bythh el nTwr' dnhwwn dwyd dplg wlwy' wkhn' dmry' bbythh shlyTn' ywyde webd
Jehoiada appointed the officers of Yahweh’s house under the hand of the Levitical priests, whom David had distributed in Yahweh’s house, to offer the burnt offerings of Yahweh, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as David had ordered.

ܘܢܩܘܡܘܢ ܢ̇ܛܪ̈ܝ ܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܥܠ ܬܪ̈ܥܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܠܬܡܢ ܡܣܝ̈ܒܐ
msyb' lthmn nelwn wl' dmry' dbythh thre' el thre' nTry wnqwmwn
He set the gatekeepers at the gates of Yahweh’s house, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.

ܘܢܣܒܘ ܪ̈ܝܫܝ ܡܐܘ̈ܬܐ ܫܠܝ̈ܛܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܘܟܘܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܬܘ ܒܓܘ ܬܪܥܐ ܥܠܝܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܐܘܬܒܘ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܐ
dmlkwth' kwrsy' el lmlk' w'wthbw mlk' dbyth ely' thre' bgw w'thw d're' em' wkwlh dem' shlyT' m'wth' ryshy wnsbw
He took the captains of hundreds, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought the king down from Yahweh’s house. They came through the upper gate to the king’s house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.
